"I know these aren't the two sexiest picks when you're taking guys who aren't skill players," Browns coach Mike Pettine said. "We prefer to call them big-skill guys. But we're thrilled because we know with a great degree of certainty that the Cleveland Browns got better today."

He has gotten sacked only once in each of the first two games, but has been hit and knocked down many more times. When Stafford gets out of the pocket, he plans to do a better job of going down to the ground by sliding or by getting out of bounds to avoid some hits.
Shattuck also has worked as a fitness consultant and advocate, publishing a book called "Vibrant Living" last year.
"We haven't worked a lot on him sliding, but we will," Smith said.
